A:  Thank you for your inquiry. I'm sorry but this is only for laminate and engineered wood floors. Not tested for carpet.

      A:  Roberts Airguard can be used over existing flooring if the the flooring is stable, flat, undisturbed, clean and meets the installation requirements of the floor covering manufacturer as a suitable substrate.

        Q:I want to use this material to keep moisture (i.e., rain) from leaking into (and air from leaking out of) an outdoor sauna. I'd install the AirGuard plastic side OUT and cover it with overlapping shiplap. Is this a bad idea?

        A:  Roberts Airgaurd recommended for use as a flooring underlayment. This product is not considered an insulation for wet areas and should not be used in high moisture scenarios.

          A:  Always follow the floor covering manufacturers specific moisture testing protocols prior to installation. This will determine if: the concrete meets moisture tolerance requirements and/ or if the concrete needs to be sealed prior to the application of the underlayment.

            A:  Roberts Installation Guideline: during all interior flooring installations, the environment must be controlled before, during and after between 65-85 degrees Fahrenheit. This helps the substrate maintain a tolerant temperature. The Airguard offers an RH Value of 0.432 over a concrete slab.

              A:  Great Question. Typically,, floor covering manufacturer's do not recommend the use of additional underlayment when the flooring is designed with pre-attached pad. As Noted - the use of additional pad can cause issue with the flooring such as locking mechanism damage. Always follow the floor covering manufacturer's specific installation guidelines for best long term performance.

                Q:I would like to use this product as an underlayment for our basement concrete floor to put a large piece of sheet vinyl down over top of it with your max grip double sided vinyl, adhesion tape. I could also use your red tape to connect it, Will this work?

                A:  Airguard underlayment is specifically designed for use under engineered wood and laminate flooring. Performance values of the underlayment and flooring are unknown when used under other flooring materials such as vinyl sheet goods. Any use of the product out of the specific guidelines are at the discretion of the end user.
