Answer This Question

A:  The carpet puller has not been testing as a pulling tool for Astroturf. It will pull carpet up during removal with serrated clamps that are designed not to cut into the carpet fibers or backing. Customer Care

A:  Yes. It is. Get a utility knife to cut the carpet into smaller strips. It makes it much easier. You really only need this if the carpet is a glue down though. The tack strip style will come up easy without this tool. Just cut the carpet into strips as you take it off the tack strips.

                    Answer This Question

A:  I am personally pulling up a heavily glued down carpet that is 15 years old throughout the entire house. I cut the carpet into strips with a utility knife and pull each section up individually. It makes the job easier on this 70 yr. old woman who is doing the job myself. If the carpet is under quarter-round molding; remove the molding first and pry the carpet up with a flat head screwdriver to get it going, then use a putty knife to further loosen the carpet so there is enough carpet for the carpet puller to grab on to and then pull in short spurts. I find short spurts easier than long massive pulls. Good luck. The job isn't easy but the carpet puller certainly makes it so.

A:  worked on mine after I cut the carpet into one foot wide strips. I suspect that it will depend on how strong you are and if the carpet will hang together while you are pulling it. On my carpet the carpet removed quite easily but the glue not so much even after using chemical glue remover.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. No it won't. You have to cut the carpet and pad where the wall meets the floor and the carpet and pad will come up by hand. If the carpet is a glue down installation the puller will work. Cut the carpet where the floor meets the wall. Then cut the carpet into 12" to 18" strips. Then you can use the puller to remove the carpet. If you have any further questions please call our Customer Service (866) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.

A:  This product will remove carpet as long as you can get enough loose to grab with.

A:  This product requires the edge of the carpet to be put in the jaw in order to pull it out so it will not work if the carpet cannot be removed from the wall.
