Questions and Answers for Rev-A-Shelf Polymer Tip-Out Trays for Sink Base Cabinets

A:  Two trays. My husband installed ours. I love this thing! So handy for a scraper and a couple of different dish brushes.

A:  Mine came with 1 tray.

A:  This comes with two trays. Each 14" long.

A:  Read the product description/overview. The one I ordered came with two trays, one that is just open and the other has a ring holder. It also came with all the hardware. Just make sure you have enough inside clearance (sink, disposal, pipes or supports) so that when you close the tray it lays flat against the cabinet face.

A:  Have you tried looking on the Rev-A-Shelf website? I installed mine a while ago and am not sure that I kept the instructions.

A:  No. We no longer have them. Sorry.

A:  Contact your local Home Depot. If they have any in stock, with the same style hinges, they can give you a photocopy

A:  To determine if they will work or not you need to measure the space between the back of the drawer front (in closed position) and the bowl of the sink. Next, determine the depth of the tray you want to install to see if there is enough room for the false front to close when the trays are installed.

A:  From the photograph you have posted, I think your challenge is whether you'll be able to take out the panel to put the hinges on. I'm also wondering if the top of the panel (on the inside) would have to be shaved so the panel can tilt out. If you think about the panel tilting out, the inside top edge might hit the top of the frame of the cabinet. If you manage to take our the panel, pretend the hinges are in. Does the panel tilt out? I hope that helps.

A:  Inset cabinets are very nice, but also rare. Yes, the hinge will work, but you will have to do a bit of modifacation. The hinge has to be set back since normally you would screw to the inside frame, but since the door now occupies this space you will have to set back further and usually requires a small block of wood to attach to. Then in some cases, the door itself being inset fits very tight inside that opening. You may have to every so slightly trim the door due to the geometry of the hinge and how it opens. It sounds complicated but it can be done.

A:  I would say it is not likely

A:  I don't see how this product would work on your cabinet. The brackets rely on the fascia overlap as shown in the Home Depot picture.

A:  You would have to add pieces of wood to the back of the opening so the hinges can be attached since they screw into the sides of the opening. Otherwise the front would stick out like they are not recessed. Doesn't really look like your front is removable.

A:  If you have the clearance from the back of the fake drawer and the sink yes.

A:  The question is how much clearance there is between the inside of your drawer fronts and the sink. The measurement must be less than 2.125 inches. You might also look for other obstructions that could interfere. Sometimes you just have to take a chance and give it a try. Keep track of the packaging and receipt. I have found Home Depot to be very accommodating with returns.

A:  Yes you can, find decorative knobs or handles to install on fronts.

A:  There is no metal cup. The white plastic tray you see in the photo does come out for easy cleaning. You might want to consider installing a drawer pull so it's easy to pull out the panel. The package comes with everything you need for two. We made the mistake of ordering two packages because it was not clear that there were two of them in one package.

A:  Yes, the plastic trays come out for easy cleaning.

A:  Sorry I have no idea what you are asking. What metal cup are you referring to. The entire tray comes out ( and can be cleaned) if you install them as per directions.

A:  Rev-A-Shelf 6571-36 36 Inch Wide Sink Front Tip-Out Tray from the 6551 Series

A:  It seems like the trays and hinges could be installed on a longer sink front by spacing them further apart. You would have to take a close look at your particular application.

A:  Rev-A-Shelf offers a 36" . 6541-36 series.

A:  These are 14" long.

A:  18" is not a standard size, so you most likely have a 6551 series which is a custom trim to fit.

A:  I bought this product 2 years ago. Size is approximately 14" x 3-1/2" x 2" . There were 2 units in the package. I think the product as shown will work fine for you. You may have trouble finding 18" or you may be in for an exhaustive search. My tray is doing what it is supposed to do ...........hold soap, steel wool and sponges. I still have an extra tray.

A:  technically, it comes with 2 trays and 4 hinges, but I think you are asking if there are 2 sets, and yes there are.

A:  It comes with 2 trays and 2 hinges for each tray. The sink should have 2 separate openings behind the false front-one for each side.

A:  No but the hinges will not snap closed and dump all of your tray contents below the sink. The hinges are designed to add resistance when closing. I have to push the tray closed. It will not close on it's own.

A:  No they are not soft closing. A soft close adapter for cabinet door might work here.

A:  No they close hard, well it all depends on how you close it if you just shut it it slams but if you guide it it's soft

A:  This particular unit is not.

A:  The best and most difficult way was disassembling the face of the unusable drawer by prying it off, removing the nails, cleaning it and adding the hinges provided.

A:  It comes with hinges that make the door front flip out. Then screws the white containers slide onto. And off, for cleaning.

A:  I installed mine with minimal effort...I predrilled holes for thee screws and used template which was included. Don't forget to purchase a matching door Pull.

A:  We are assuming you actual mean "How is a a Tip-Out Sink Front tray installed" as a pull-out drawer would be a different item then what this question is attached to. A tip out sink is installed by removing the current front wood piece that is in front of your sink and attaching the tip out tray to it. You would then attach that wood piece back tot he cabinet using the hinges that are included with this purchase. You should make sure that there is enough room between the cabinet and the sink for the tip out tray to fit before purchase.

A:  It's easy to install. Just pop the front fascia off, remove the clips that held it in place, install the hinges per the instructions, (be careful not to drill through the fascia to make pilot holes for the screws) Attaching the hinges to the cabinet frame is tricky as the hinges fight you and try to close while you are screwing the assembly in place You might want to have a helper near by. Also buy a drawer pull as it does not come with one to match the others before you start.

A:  Yes, you will probably want 2 knobs or pulls on the face for a even/smooth opening.

A:  Yes, you will just omit one of the pairs of hinges
