Q:Do you have to connect a 1/4" tube to the other end? Can I just puncture this into my 1/2" drip line if the tube is right over my plant?

Answer This Question

A:  You are not required to connect 1/4" tubing, this is just if you would like to run tubing directly to the area requiring water. Q:Do the emitters connect to the black 1/4? supply line with the barbed connectors or is a punch required?

    Answer This Question

A:  Barbed ends securely retain 1⁄4" Drip tubing for a leak-proof connection. Self-piercing barb allows for direct insertion into the side of 1/2" or larger drip irrigation tubing, or in-line use with 1/4" tubing for positioning near individual plants. Q:Is there a limit to the length of one run? I have a very long border and am afraid the plants at the end will not get as much water. Maybe that's what the pressure regulator is for.

        Answer This Question

A:  When it comes to 1/2" tubing, there's something called the 200/200 rule: keep each individual run of 1/2" tubing under 200 feet from the water source, and make sure that the combined flow rates of all of the emitters on that run don't exceed 200 gph. A:  We need to work on correction of the supporting text. The correct text should state 0.5 GPH 10 pack.

Q:Can i replace the broken old emitter with the new one in the same hole? I don't have to make another hole?

            Answer This Question

A:  In theory, yes. However, removing the old emitter might enlarge the hole resulting in a leak. There are hole plugs or you could cut the old hole and splice the line.

A:  Yes you can use the same hole

              by|May 2, 2024

A:  Yes.  Very easy to do

                by|Aug 27, 2022

A:  I have also encountered this situation. Roughly half the time I was able to pry out the old emitter without damaging the tube and reuse the same hole. For the others, I had to cut out the damaged section of tube and insert a union fitting and make a new hole.

                  by|Aug 25, 2022

A:  That is correct. Just pull the broken emitter out and put a new one in the exact same hole.   I have done that a few times when needed.

                        Answer This Question

A:  I checked the Home Depot web page and the Rain Bird web page for this item and neither mentioned the country of origin. Because this is a low cost item, I don't believe this is of general interest. The only way to find out is to call Rain Bird. (877)727-8772
