A: No. look up on you tube and buy a dremel.
A: I would not recommend this tool for removing one-way screws. I tried to back out a screw I was installing, but the sleeve kept slipping off the screw. However, the screw was really too large for the largest bit supplied with the tool. It may remove screws that better fit the size of the bits.
A: Did NOT work for me.
A: Yes you can remove one way security screws with this tool, if you are familiar with how one way security screws are built and know something about magnets then you can figure out how to securely grip the security screw with the hex shank cup (standard included) which should give enough grip when applying pressure against a "one way" security screw. Impact drill is definitely recommended as the strength and force you would need to reverse the one way is substantially hard for a person who is not of age or muscle. The bit may continue to rotate (apply pressure until bit grips!!!) until the bit grips the angled groove counter "clockwise". In terms of the durability of the bit compared to how it is supposed to create a groove in the slip-less bevel of the one way screw i would say it was an average sub-par coated bit in terms of maneuverability and its durability to"joint" the metal surface of the one way screw although the undercoating of the bit is very durable it was not sharp enough to last through a 4th one way screw to "joint" bend or create a groove in the angled bevel (raise) of the one way screw allowing for a deinstallation. (Haven't seen many other products around like this so not sure what to recommend as of a comparison)
A: no
A: Hi Jose, Yes this should remove or install the screws as long as they are this type. Thanks for asking. Greg
A: There is no tool for removing that works. Use a cutting wheel to cut a slot in screw then a slotted screw driver to remove.
A: This is definitely ONLY for DRIVING the screw in. There is no way that this can remove the screw. I have been all over Home Depot's website and I after buying two products that I thought would do it - Home Depot has no item that is a one-way screw remover. I have also not found any other product with any other retailers. So this is a lost cause. But I defy anyone to tell me how THIS product removes a one way security screw. It is only for driving in the screw.
A: Pick the right bit for the screw size, center it in the slot on the screw and then apply a lot of pressure while you back it out. If the crew is really tight or rusted in place, you might have to cut a slot in the screw and use a large flat screw driver.
A: There are a couple of things to try, but it's not always easy. -If you happen to have or can borrow a welder (any cheapo kind will do), tack weld a piece of metal to the head, something you can grip with your hand or a wrench so you can unscrew it. Make sure you have enough room to turn it. -Cut a slot into the head so you can use a screwdriver. -Find a socket (or even a pipe) that will jam onto the sides of the head and unscrew it. Expect it to slip a lot at first but eventually it does work. Sometimes you can jam something like sandpaper between the sides of the head and socket to give it some grip. I use this method all the time to remove frozen rusted screws, or even those with some special head that requires a special tool. This was an old trick used by thieves to steal mag wheels with wheel locks. -Using a metal chisel, put a notch on the side of the screw head, then angle the chisel a bit and hammer it to make the screw turn, following the notch round and around as the screw backs out. This works for any and every stuck screw, no matter how rusted or whatever. And of course, once you have it sticking out a bit, vice grips or a wrench makes the rest easy.
A: These tools are intended for one way. You’ll have to cut a slot to permit use of a flat blade screwdriver for removal
A: Hi, Kyle. My name is Lynn from the Ryobi team. If you are not getting the help you need through the question and answers on the Home Depot website, we suggest that you contact us directly at 1-800-525-2579. Keep in mind you have to use a good bit of pressure from removal with these units with your drill.
A: As far as I can tell, you can't remove with this tool. The bit slides off the screw. If the sleeve worked like the EZ Power remover, it would fit around the head of the screw and prevent the bit from moving. Instead, the sleeve is flared for some reason. Save yourself the aggravation and return it.
A: Does not work to remove. look up on you tube and buy a dremel.
A: Go to Home Depot and find the Dremel EZ406-02, use it to cut a groove in the top of the screw. Back the screw out with a flat head screwdriver. Ye, you can get it in between the rails the window guard !
A: We couldn't remove ours either!!
A: When placing your order online be sure to select the option that says "We'll Ship it To You" when you add to your cart. If you select the "Pick up in store" option when you add to cart your order will not process if you select more units to purchase than the store has available in its inventory.
A: This did not work to loosen one way screws at all ..only works to tighten them
A: Not worth the cost of purchase.
A: Thank you for asking, STEVE. Please check with the retail distributor Home Depot, possibly a local stores customer service desk. A: Unfortunately, Does Not work. Disappointing! Zero stars. Do not buy and save yourself the trouble of returning.
A: It worked very well.. I had a deadbolt lock with these screws... It was very easy to remove the one way machine screws
A: Did not work as expected. Too a great amount of time and effort. Would have been easier to drill out the screw.
