A: Hello, Sescadman - Thank you for your interest in the 18V Brushless Cordless 3/8 in. Subcompact Right Angle Drill Kit with 2.0 Ah MAX Output Battery and Charger. I'm sorry, no. I would not recommend using a different chuck. Doing so may damage the tool and void the Lifetime Service Agreement. A: Hello, Killerwhiteshark - Thank you for your interest in the 18V SubCompact Brushless Cordless 3/8 in. Right Angle Drill. Avoid running the drill at low speeds for extended periods of time. Running at low speeds under constant usage may cause the drill to become overheated. If this occurs, cool the drill by running it without a load and at full speed. A: Hello, Brad - Thank you for your interest in the 18V Brushless Cordless 3/8 in. Subcompact Right Angle Drill Kit with 2.0 Ah MAX Output Battery and Charger. The direction of bit rotation is reversible and is controlled by a selector located above the switch trigger. With the drill held in normal operating position, the direction of rotation selector should be positioned to the left of the switch trigger for forward drilling. The drilling direction is reversed when the selector is to the right of the switch trigger. A: I've been well pleased with mine. I used it several times when I didn't need the shorter clearance just to make sure it had the power needed. I haven;t been disappointed yet. I used the smaller 2 Ah battery and it has plenty of power for sheet metal work. I had only used 3/16 drill bits in tight spaces, but just now for a test I used a 1/2 bit and it powered through a treated 4/4. I've used it a coule of times with a phillips bit to drive 3" deck screws. Can't argue with lifetime warranty.
A: The Milwaukee 18V is not brushless and is significantly less powerful. So it's not really comparable to the Ridgid/Ryobi. What you're going to use the tool for is most important in your choice. Beware the cheap chuck on the Ryobi (and maybe this too).
A: Besides having great torque, excellent grip and working in a small compact space, the “GUARANTEE” for life is the best bet for any RIDGID product.
