Q:Does this hold 3 ADULT bikes?

Answer This Question

A:  I wouldn't think it would hold three adult sized bikes but you could probably do two adult bikes and a child size bike. It will hold about 3 Rubbermaid storage containers if they are the smaller size.

A:  If you strap them together. Rack is certainly strong enough to handle the weight if it is secured properly to the wall.

A:  Hi there, Mara- Yes, the ProRack will indeed hold three adult bikes, in fact, it will work with up to 4, but without much wiggle room. You will want to alternate hanging from front/rear tires. Thank you,

Q:Can this be mounted to cinder block?

A:  Yes, if use you use strong anchors like a Lag Shield anchors for block or brick and lag bolts sized for the anchors. I recomment 3/8" for the top ones. The bottom ones are not so critical. Weight on the shelf will try to pull the top away from the wall.

A:  Yes, I believe so as long as you use appropriate fasteners. It’s a very heavy, well built shelf.

A:  Hi SAV- Thank you for your question. ProRacks can certainly be mounted to cinder block. You will want to consult an authority on what type of fastener to use however - it depends on the age of your cinder block and humidity levels in the environment where you are. Older concrete block can dry out and crumble. The supplied fasteners are intended for use with timber frame structures, so you will want to source your own concrete lag bolts that are best for use with the type of block that you have and the hardness thereof. A:  Yes! You would have to use concrete anchors or preferably toggle bolts.

                Answer This Question

A:  Hi KenP, As much as we would love to say yes, we would need a bit more information. The lag bolts that come in the box are intended for use with a timber frame structure, so for certain you would need to source your own fasteners. Beyond that, we're happy to help if you would like to email more details to us at sales@proslat.com or phone 1.888.691.2944 and follow the prompts to get to customer service. Thank you.

Q:I am asking how does one get the brackets needed to install the pro rack steell shelf directly to the slat wall to replace the bracket included (H)? The directions say to contact Pro Slat via email or phone. I have done that several times and there has been no reply to my query so I tried this forum. I have the secondary shelves as well. I would like to install them into the slat wall instead directly into the wall. Thank you.

A:  Hi HN- The pricing varies according to the width. The ProRack is sold in 4 ft. sections. The 4 ft. is a single unit wide (48 inches x 28 inches high x 28 inches depth to wall), the 8 ft is 2 of the 4 ft. units, joined and the 12 ft unit is 3 units wide. They can be installed in series or individually. If you still have questions, please let us know. 1.888.691.2944x250. Thank you!

                            Answer This Question

A:  Good question, Jude. Typically residential construction calls for 16" OC studs, but if yours are 18, there are holes in the wall mount bracket to accomodate for this. You'll want to make sure you lag into your studs at both the top & bottom of the wall mount bracket (part H) to ensure weight bearing capacity.
