A:  Yes, our home has wood and we use them. They work great.

A:  I forget the measurement but it is written on the front of the packaging. It´s either 2 1/8" or 2 1/16" I think. I am using them on my wood windows with success. Not sure they look as correct as the regular latches you would use for wood windows BUT these work much better than any other latch I´ve tried. They are WHITE and you can´t paint them so that is a consideration. But again, working latches is more important to me than how it looks.

As for using these locks on wood windows, it is possible to mount them on wood sash, however, they were designed for use on vinyl sliding windows, and using these locks on wooden sash will void the product's warranty. We currently do not manufacture shims for these types of locks, but I would suggest using thin cardboard backing similar to that found on the backs of spiral notebooks, writing tablets, cereal or other dry food or packaging boxes that are not too thick. A:  I had the same problem with one of my windows and all I used was pieces of paper bunched together to make a shim and it worked just fine. You can try that and see if it works for you.
