Follow reverse procedure to install new lock; be sure end post fits into slot on opposite handle. A:  not need for long screws the set come with screws long enough

A:  My door is 1" thick. I did not use the white screws that can with the latch. I used the longer screws that was on the original latch that I replaced. Every thing assembled OK. If you do have a problem you can remove the round tumbler cover in the old latch and replace it with the new key tumbler from the new latch, only if the latches are identical. I did not have to do this. Don't forget to give all moving parts a blast of DW- 40.
