Q:What is the accurate PSI trip point for this built-in relief or pop-off valve? If like you have answered here that it is pre-set to 150 PSI, then this replacement valve assembly should only be installed on an air tank with 175-200 PSI or higher rating!

Q:Do people really throw these tanks away after the discard date on tank? Mine s 2008

A: My tank is older than that still using it as long as it holds air
by|Jul 8, 2022
A: Air tanks should be discarded when it reaches its expiration date. There is a potential for injury if it used after the discarded date as the internal condition of the tank could be compromised by that point due to water condensation or metal fatigue.

A: The wheel is round and plastic
by|Jun 5, 2020
A: The knob is a hard plastic and is the winged style.
by|Jun 8, 2020
A: So then I assume it is the luck of the draw as to winged or round. Really makes no difference since the problem with plastic is they crack and break

A: Cheap plastic and they can be either style. Mine broke after 3 months and this makes the valve difficult to turn. To replace the knob you have to purchase the entire valve assembly at a price that is just a few bucks less than the original tank price. Goo luck.

Q:What is the flow coefficient? (Approximately)

Answer This Question
A: With the large valve orifice and the large inlet of this portable air carry tank manifold, the pressure drop is almost nothing. The flow through the manifold is 10 SCFM.
by|Apr 15, 2019
A: Unfortunately the air flow is alittle restricted. It's great for tire and things of that nature but dont think you could use it for air tools without some modifications.

A: mine hold air for about 3 weeks

A: My replacement one leaks too. Down to 20psi in 3 days. The hard to find replacement with red metal handle are hard to get but i would like to try one.

A: mine works fine
by|May 6, 2023
A: The reason for leaks on this type of valve is because the valve must be returned to the Off position after filling the tank. If it lef in the On position it will leak down slowly.
by|Apr 16, 2019
A: Yes it will but I found that you have to close the valve when finished using it.
by|May 6, 2023
A: Mine holds air for a few days but eventually leaks out. Not a big issue for me as I only use it for quick repair jobs. It’s easier than lugging the compressor around. The culprit is the pressure relief valve. Mine leaks slowly when I do a water test.
by|May 6, 2023
A: Yes, they do hold air long term. The one I replaced was about 10 years old. Possibly, it is not on tight with Teflon tape or you could have bought a defective one.
by|Sep 30, 2018
A: I bought this to replace one that was slowly leaking. Holding without leaks for a year and a half so far. It was definitely worth replacing.

A: The valve is marked “150 PSI”.
by|May 5, 2023
A: The manifold should be rated for higher pressures than the tank it is attached to. My tank is rated for 120 psi. No issues with the manifold or relief valve.
by|May 5, 2020
A: The air tank I installed this on has a 125 psi max rating. I typically fill my air tank to 110 psi. I had to search for details on this item and didn't find much info about max psi rating. It does have a safety pop-off valve. The only info I found on this was on ebay where this (or a similar) item stated that the pop-off valve operated at 130 psi. I believe this item will not have any problem handling any pressure up to the pop-off pressure.

A: I believe it is 120psi

A: Not sure what they are rated for but I fill my tank up to 100 PSI.

A: You can fill the tank by either the Schrader Valve or the coupler that you add. Either way, the valve must be in the Open position during the filling process and then closed after you fill the tank up.
