    Q:Our pond is rather shallow, 10 from the shore the water is 2 ft deep. Our neighbors generally have 4X8 wooden docks that they take out of the water during the freeze. I’m considering a 4X10 ft aluminum floating dock, would a floating dock have to be removed from the pond during the freeze? Has anyone had this type of experience?

    A:  Normal freezing and thawing will not damage a PlayStar Dock. However, docks are left in at owner’s discretion. No dock can withstand heavy ice movement. You should consider the following factors: What has been the history of ice movement at your location? Do other dock owners in your area take their docks in or leave them out? Are there local restrictions or requirements? What kind of recreational activities take place around the dock during the winter?       Q:If the dock is floating, what do you need the pipe for? The floating dock I had in California was 8 x 12' with a 12' runway from the shore to the dock. The dock was held securely in place by two lines from the front corners of the dock to the shore on about a 40 degree angle. Held it thru winds over 70mph and it's been there for over 7 years now. It as never come out of the water. (Made of Stainless Steel). So....again, why the pipe???

          A:  Yes, The KT 15053 Aluminum Floating Dock with Resin Top includes 3 floats along with a frame, resin top, hinge kits, pipe sleeve and auger.               A:  12” above the water line. The dock is floating in brackish water, about 30% of the salinity of the ocean.

                    A:  Yes, I did just that. leave out the center flange plate marked "PLAY STAR" on one side of each and install the 8 bolts same with inside corners.

                        A:  Aluminum Floating Dock kit KT 15053 includes the floats, frame, resin top, pipe sleeve and connection hinges. The only item you will need to purchase separately is the pipe as this length will be determined by your water levels. Any additional questions please let us know.                                 A:  We have plans to convert two 4' x 10' sections into swim rafts. We cannot however recommend that they are not secured in some manner to the bottom of the body of water. If you need those plans or have any additional questions please let us know.                                   A:  I'd add polyurethane inside floats they aren't super heavy and sure why not you can bolt as many together as you want.
