Q:Will this bulb fit in my allure hood vent?

Answer This Question

A:  I’m not sure. It probably can. I bought them for the light fixtures in my bathroom.. you may want to try and return if not.. they really are a quality bulb and i love that it’s a clear bulb without the inside yellow color inside of it showing.

by|Mar 1, 2022

A:  It may be best to contact the manufacturer of the vent hood, as they would have the specs of the hood. With that information, you could call Philips at 1-800-555-0050.

Q:Will theses bulbs fit my front porch fixtures and my mailbox light that comes on night to day with a sensor

    Answer This Question

A:  These bulbs may fit your fixture if your fixture accepts a bulb with a medium or e26 base. This bulb does not have a dusk to dawn sensor built in, but it would certainly work with a fixture that has a sensor. Please keep in mind that these bulbs should not come into direct contact with water, however.

    by|Oct 28, 2020

A:  It really depends on the fixture. The bulb bottom is a standard size but the bulb itself is oversized and rounder than a normal lightbulb.

A:  They have a standard base but are a large vanity type bulb. They might be too wide for your fixture

Q:I want to replace the lightbulbs in my overhead dining room light, which we also use for reading. Currently we have Philips Duramax 60w G25 bulbs. Light output is 700 Lumens. The bulbs are Medium base and coated (i.e. not clear). These bulbs do not seem to be available now. What can I use as a replacement that will provide 800 Lumens? Thank you.

A:  I would look at LED bulbs. They have a bigger brightness with less wattage.

A:  YOUR BEST ANSWER WONT COME FROM ME BUT A HOME DEPOT REP. IN THAT DEPT.

          by|May 26, 2020

A:  Typically we don't see G25s used in this type of application, but if you would like to continue using a G25 I would suggest looking for an LED G25. Several states have recently passed legislation that requires light bulbs to meet stringent energy efficiency standards which may be why you are no longer able to find the Duramax bulbs. If you need greater light output, I would also suggest looking for a 60w Equivalent A19 LED bulb. These will typically produce 800 lumens.

A:  This bulb uses 40 Watts but produces light equivalent to a traditional 60 Watt incandescent bulb. We'll update the description to clear up this confusion.

A:  60W replacement running at 40W. Output is 550 vs 720 lumins but is bright and clear so works well as a 60W replacement

                A:  60W EQUIVALENT TO 40W

                by|Jul 2, 2022

A:  It should be fine to use these bulbs. A 60W LED really is showing the type of traditional bulb it is replacing. A 60W LED bulb generally will use no more than I think 10W at most. So it can work anywhere. The numbers that really matter with LED are Kalvin (how bright the bulb is. 2,700 is like a traditional bulb; 3,000 is a bit more like outside (my fav); and 5K is outside light, best reserved for a garage or workspace type setting. Lumens is the other number: the higher lumens, the more light the bulb puts out.

A:  I bought 60 watt and the light output was as bright as 60 watt. But the draw is closer to 40 watt. I am saving energy and for that I am happy. I can’t tell which bulbs have been replaced. There is a row of bulbs in my bathroom.

A:  The base would fit the lamp socket. However, the bulb itself might not. It is bigger that a league baseball. It is really for the row of lights that go over a bathroom sink.

A:  This bulb has a medium screw base (E26). Please check with the fixture in question to ensure that this does not exceed the maximum wattage rating of the fixture.

A:  Chuck, The base of the bulb is the same as any other normal size light bulb, 100 wt, 75 wt. This bulb will fit where a normal light bulb would fit, screws right in with no problem. John

A:  I'm not sure my fixtures in the bathrooms are open they screw in and are totally visable.

                            by|Dec 19, 2018

A:  It would totally depend on the the fan and space for the bulb. It would take a rather large space on a fan, but I have a couple of fans they would fit in. I use them for my bathroom over the sink light fixture. They just stick strait out with no globes surrounding them.

A:  NO, not unless you take the shade completely off. It also depends on the shape and design of the shade. It will not fit into my ceiling fan unless I take the shades off.

A:  Not sure of the scale being referred to, but these bulbs are billed as "daylight". They are clear glass and shed well more than the typical 40W bulb.

A:  Generally 2,700-5,000. 2,700 is most like traditional, non LED bulbs. 3,000 bulbs are a little more "clear" and less "candle" looking. 5K is bright/outdoor. I'd only use 5K for a commercial type space, or a garage, outdoor lights, etc.
