Q:2 small white clips/clamps came with philips spiral 3-way lightbulb - how do you use them?

A:  The clips are used to raise a harp (shade support) to provide enough room to accommodate the larger size of Phillips' dual tube bulb. The clips fit between the harp base that's attached below the lamp socket and the ends of the harp that engage the base. The clips aren't required for floor lamps or table lamps that don't have a traditional shade. I used a taller harp on my table lamp, so I can't speak to how well the Phillips clips work.

A:  Those clamps are harp extenders. This bulb is too big for many lamps. You place those clamps/clips where the harp would normally attach to the lamp and then attach the harp to those clamps. The bulb works fine this way, but I would recommend in the future getting a smaller sized (same wattage) 3-way bulg.

A:  The two small white clips/clamps that came with the Philips 11-23-34 Watts (50-100-150W) Soft White (2700K) 3 way CFL Light Bulb (E*) can be used to extend the harp on the lamp since the bulb is very large.

A:  We wanted to add, the harp is the metal clip that helps to support the lamp shade. The Clips are used to extend the harp of the table lamp in case the bulb does not fit within the fixture. How to Use: The harp should be removed and then use the plastic clips to make the harp longer.
