A: Hello Gen, thank you for you question! You can absolutely use this pet door with an aluminum standard door measuring 1/16” to 1 ¾" thick.
by|Dec 15, 2018
A: Yes, but a clean cut hole with no metal edges bent outward is paramount. Any thing that affects door thickness will mess with these plastic screws and a nice flush outer frame install.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, depending on the size of your panel. You would want to have the pet door frame to fit completely over the panel you cut out.

A: Hello JW, great question! You can absolutely install our Plastic Pet Door in a panel door. However, depending where the panels are located in proximity to where you wish to place the pet door, you many need additional framing in for the grooves of the panel. Answer This Question
A: No, the product cannot be installed in glass.
by|May 5, 2023
A: While your glass door may have several "squares" usually called lites, each square being a lite; the determining factor is whether you have one solid piece of glass, or is each lite a separate glass pane? I wouldn't recommend placing a pet door in a door with a single pane of glass, or any type of gas filled glass. Gas filled glass normally is two panes of glass with a silver colored band between the edges of glass. If the lites are separate pieces of glass, then yes install in the door. Other options may be to place in the wall at the side of the door.

A: Thanks for your question! Our Plastic Pet Door can be installed to either wood or metal doors. However, it is not recommend to be installed into glass.

A: This is a great question! The PetSafe Plastic Pet Door comes with a closing panel that can be attached to the door when it is not in use.
by|Sep 11, 2019
A: No. What you DO have is a hard plastic insert which closes it off if you wish.

A: Actually, it doesn't have a lock feature. It is a flexible clear vinyl swinging door. You can however place a sliding stiff white panel on the inside which in effect locks the door, and blocks the opening. The sliding panel comes with the door.

Q:Can I screw it onto an actual screen? will it be too heavy? will it hold up? My dog tore a hole on the screen door, so instead of replacing the screen door, I was wondering if I can turn that hole into a doggie door.

A: I don't think you can install it in a screen door.
by|Dec 17, 2020
A: Thanks for your question! While our Plastic Pet Door can be installed into a standard door, or even a wall, it would be too heavy to be installed into a screen. With that being said, we do offer a pet door specifically designed to be installed into screen. The model number for our Pet Screen Door is P1-ZB-11.
