A:  Hello Ron! The La Casa Dining Arm Chair shows a seat measurement of 20.25" wide x 16.5" deep. The La Casa Dining Side Chair shows a seat measurement of 17" wide x 16.5" deep. The seat size is actually the same for both chairs and uses the same cushion. The extra 3.25" for the arm chair is the clearance for the arms to attach to the side frame of the chair. You can see in the drawing that the arms are designed to be on the outside of the chair and not take any space away from the seat size.
