A:  Hello Glenn, It is difficult to paint because the paint may not permeate all the fibers. Also, the insulation and the paint will not hold up to movement or compression. We do not make any recommendations for painting glass fiber insulation. Thank you for your inquiry

A:  Hello Mark, When compressed to less than its’ labeled thickness, glass fiber insulation will experience a reduction in R-value. Compressing 3.5" R-13 into a 1.5" cavity will have an R-value of 6.8. Thank you for your inquiry!
