A: Our shed shelves are jammed with plant pots and related stuff. The shed is solid and easily handles our modest collection of garden gear. Each time I walk by it, I think "that's a great looking shed". Advice to buyer: read the instructions, gather your tools, allow yourself two afternoons to set it up.

Answer This Question
A: I didn't see any. All screws. But you will need to add staples or screws to re-enforce it.
by|Sep 8, 2020
A: Yes - staples for siding panels and flooring/roof panels
by|May 5, 2023
A: The boxes are full of staples.
The pre-constructed walls are stapled.
The pieces you put together include screws, finishing nails, or roofing nails. There are a few bolts used with the hinges.

A: I did not treat the shed and it looks great 2 years later. It’s cedar so it will last.

A: The cedar is not coated, so it will turn grey over time. You can stain (clear or colored) or paint the shed.
by|May 5, 2023
A: It is not pre-finished. But it's up to you as to whether you need/want to refinish it. Over time, the wood will become gray-er, but pollutants in the air/rain can have an effect on the actual color/shade that the wood will turn. A finish will certainly help prolong the life of the shed and maintain its appearance if it's fully outside, and you can treat it with a clear stain (e.g. Thomson's water seal or Polyurethane) or you can stain it with a color. I have mine under an overhang, so it doesn't get much rain, but I still stained it the same color as my deck (a light tan, so it's not too far from the unfinished color) so it blends in better.

A: I sealed ours. I would seal it if it will be exposed for sure
by|May 5, 2023
A: I don't know if it is pre-finished but I put two coats of polyurethane on it anyway and plan to re-finish it in the future. Also I put it on a cement slab to protect it on the bottom.

A: Needs some protection - used Thompsons water based to allow natural colors to shine through.

A: Mine is under a covered patio so a coating is not necessary since it is cedar. If it were in the rain I would put water sealer on it.

A: This item is not pre-finished and a finish coat is optional.

Q:Is there any reason this could not be used for storing firewood?

Answer This Question
A: No, but it should not be near fire.
by|May 5, 2023
A: No reason but it seems a waste to use this just for firewood. You would likely need the wood cut to sizes that could be stacked neatly on the right side of the shed.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Would work for firewood - but have a solid foundation.
by|May 5, 2023
A: If it is used for firewood I would brace the bottom.

Q:Show me the plans. How difficult is it to put together?
by|May 14, 2017

Answer This Question
A: Plans are included with the package and you can download them in a PDF format from the HD website. Not difficult to put together. I did it all in about 5 hours without help. The hardest part is getting the first side walls to stand erect while attaching the back. Ended up by using temporary braces while attaching the panels. I found using a nail gun significantly eased the construction and after the pieces were in place, went pack and put in the screws.

A: It should be if you caulk the seams at the top of the completed structure. The overlap on those seams is pretty good, but caulking would ensure no water incurison.
by|Dec 6, 2016
A: Yes, the shed is water tight.

A: You can use caulking to seal the cracks (they recommend it) but understand that it uses overlapping boards for weather proofing so moist air can get into it. I would consider it ok for garden tools but fine shop tools could be a problem. Think of it as a small barn. Would you store your tools in a barn?
