Answer This Question

A:  Hello, yes, the Boxwood is just about the same height, 9-10" tall. This is because our crop is continually rotating; we sell out of them as fast as they become available to sell. With ideal growing conditions, the Boxwood will achieve its mature height & width in about 2-3 years.

Q:What is the best way to prune a broken branch, or thin it out to keep it healthy?
    by|Jul 27, 2017
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Hello, thank you for your question. To prune a dead branch, simply bend that dead branch along with the surrounding branches downward very gently to expose its bottom end. Cut through this branch 1/4 inch above its base with a pair of pruning shears. To thin, just select a thickly leafed branch, then reach into the plant and snip the branch off 6 in. from its tip (being sure to avoid your fingers!) and 1/4 in. above a lateral branch. Repeat by selecting randomly spaced limbs for even thinning, removing no more than 10% of the total plant's branches.

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello, the 'Wee Willie does not need any special fertilizing, although if desired, an application of a general purpose fertilizer could be applied in Spring. It benefits from moderate watering, approximately 1" of water per week, either through rainfall or irrigation. One-inch of water is equal to a 5-gallon bucket full.
