A:  You could fill it with sand, although sand is heavier than water so you need to keep that in mind regarding the towing capacity of your mower. Also it will take a very long time to add the sand due to the small hose hole you will need to sift the sand through.

A:  I do not know but i can tell youi it work on any surface. When i put my yard in it was covered with shale and i packed it down no dents full of water did a good job i have used it a lot and NO dents or rest I iwould every have to replace it i would buy the same.

A:  It’s an expansion plug. Tighten with a screwdriver to get the seal. I use vasoline on the rubber to make the seal water tight. Drain every year to avoid freezing.

A:  Remove the plug and attachment from roller and hold it with a glove and turn the the tee and tighten the rubber end as tight as you can get it and leave it set a number of days to soften the rubber then make sure the hole is not damaged loosen it and put a little WD 40 the shaft to the washer should work great this is my second one when i sold my first house he wanted to keep replaced it with the same model they last forever.

A:  Ohio Steel rollers are carefully welded and checked for leaks before final production. The bushings are not sealed as they are not bearings. We use an oil impregnated bearing that is integrated into the drawbar.

A:  The butt seam is just welded. I have owned mine for 2 years with no leaks. The shaft runs through the hollow tube in the middle of the drum The bung is a rubber compression stopper.

A:  We recommend filling with water and emptying and drying before cold weather arrives. Alternatively you can add antifreeze to the water and never empty the roller. Some people fill with sand but that would be a very slow process due to the size of the fill hole. I can’t speak to the ability to weld on it with these materials inside the roller.

A:  There is an additive that you can put in the water to keep it from freezing and getting rusty. We are just going to empty the roller at the end of the season.

A:  No, you can not push or pull by hand.

A:  I suppose you could easily put a piece of wood or metal bar through and drill center hole,round the ends for grip. Or attach to a large dog.

A:  No attachment is included to allow you to push or pull the roller by hand. I do believe there is a roller that is made to push or pull.
