A:  Good morning and thank you for your question. This ceiling fan, model CFH52BS, weighs 15.2 lbs. If you use a light kit, that will add weight, too. You cannot attach this to a drop ceiling, although you probably already know that. Your installation must be able to support the moving weight of the fan (at least 50 lbs) to be safe. A:  Thank you for your question about the Hugger Series. This series of our ceiling fans is designed to ‘hug’ the ceiling. A down rod can be used with our ceiling fans, but not this one. You may want to check out the following model: CFS52WH. While this comes with a 4” and 6” down rod, you could then purchase an extension down rod in 12”, 18”, 24”, 36”, or 48”. A:  Hi, Andy. Thank you for your interest in our ceiling fans. The low speed will not cause a ‘wind storm’, but I understand your concern. At its lowest speed, it’s approximately 70-80 RPMs. At the highest speed it’s approximately 210-220 RPMs. I hope this is helpful, however, if you have further questions just dial 888-336-6151 and speak with our Technical Support Department.
