Q:is that one a sdr-35 pipe
by|Aug 21, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry on the NIBCO 1-1/2 in. PVC DWV All Hub Sanitary Tee Fitting. No, that is a DWV fitting, not pipe. All NIBCO PVC fittings are designed for Schedule pipe (SCH40 or SCH80). SDR-35 (standard dimension ratio) is sewer and storm drainage pipe – it’s an entirely different sizing convention. SDR 35 pipe is not compatible with SCH40/80 fittings and vice versa. NIBCO does not offer any SDR 35 compatible products. If you have additional questions, you can reach a NIBCO Technical Services Advisor, M-F 8am - 5pm EST, by phone at (888) 446-4226.

A:  ID, it fits 2" pipe.

A:  For PVC piping, 2" is the "nominal" or "named" pipe size. What this means is that a 2" pipe fitting will accept 2" nominal pipe. The actual inside diameter of the hub on these fittings is probably a scoshe greater than 2" and the pipe itself is probably a smidgen under. Various "schedules" of pipe have differing wall thicknesses and therefore the inside diameter of the PIPE will vary, but the outside diameter of a 2" nominal pipe will generally always fit inside the hub of a 2" fitting.
