A:  there is definitely an odor, it smells just like new tires (probably because they are recycled tires). I installed mine outdoors and it took about a week before the smell was gone. Indoors will probably take much longer.

The only call out to make here is that there may be a residue left from the salt that may have to be washed off in the Spring. As these tiles are made from recycled car tires, they are very durable and can be left in place year round. That being said, when shoveling them off, you need to be very careful that the shovel doesn’t go down into the channels between the tiles, as the shovel may get caught. Only use a light-weight, plastic bladed shovel, and gently push the snow off of the tops of the tiles, or even use a broom if it makes sense.
