Q:Used on Concrete underneath a Hot Tub

    Answer This Question

A:  Based on the particular needs that you have, it is difficult to give you a 100% conclusive answer here. You may be better off using the 18"x18" Envirotile Pavers as the would be better at absorbing/supporting the weight, seeing as you have about 2000 lbs of weight in the water alone. Concerning, whether or not you meet the Electrical code in your area, you will have to talk to someone who is accredited to do so. We certainly cannot from afar.

        Q:Bouceable surface

        Answer This Question

A:  We don't recommend putting these on a lawn as they are designed to go on top of a hard surface. If you in fact put them on a lawn, and as the ground is soft, they would follow the contours of the ground and after awhile, would be quite uneven and not pleasing to the lawn. The lawn would also dampen the "bounce" factor of the ball, which is not the outcome that you would be looking for.

Q:Is there an odor from the tiles? If so, how long to dissipate when outdoors in covered area?

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our 12 in. x 12 in. Slate Rubber Deck Tile. This product does have a slight odour, but the smell usually dissipates 2 weeks after manufacturing. Generally, it takes longer than that to reach stores, so there should be no smell by the time you get this home. Thank you for your inquiry.

A:  there is definitely an odor, it smells just like new tires (probably because they are recycled tires). I installed mine outdoors and it took about a week before the smell was gone. Indoors will probably take much longer.

Q:Can salt be used on this product? Is there any speical consideration to be given when shoveling snow off of the tiles?

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our 12 in. x 12 in. Slate Rubber Deck Tiles. Yes, salt can be used on and around this product. The only call out to make here is that there may be a residue left from the salt that may have to be washed off in the Spring. As these tiles are made from recycled car tires, they are very durable and can be left in place year round. That being said, when shoveling them off, you need to be very careful that the shovel doesn’t go down into the channels between the tiles, as the shovel may get caught. Only use a light-weight, plastic bladed shovel, and gently push the snow off of the tops of the tiles, or even use a broom if it makes sense. The tiles will actually warm up in the winter sun, and can in fact help melt snow in some cases. Thank you for your inquiry.
