Questions and Answers for MetalTech 7 ft. L x 19 in. W Scaffolding Platform, Aluminum Work Platform and Scaffold Plank for Metaltech Scaffolding, 3-Pack
Q:I am looking for additional planks to add to my wood ones which are fairly heavy. I would like to start switching to aluminum planks. I do not see any specifications on the actual length of these other than 7' x 19". I need to know if that includes the "hook" at the end or if that is the standing surface dimensions. All my frames have a 1.75" diam. round tube framework and measure on average 85.75 inches outside to outside. Center to center is about 7' (84")Will these drop on to my 1.75" support frame at this length? Also are these planks extruded? What alloy? Thanks for your help.

A: Yep they're extruded. What alloy? Seriously? Let's pretend that wasn't asked.
The planks work for standard mason scaffolding. Everybody calls them 7' planks. A 7' plank is the same length as any other 7' scaffolding plank. I have several brands picked up over the years waco, bill jax etc

A: It will fit a 5'x7' standard blue mason scaffold..The hooks are already on it. If your set up is 7ft from end to end it will fit..
by|Apr 23, 2020
A: The hooks are made to set on the scaffold frames or outriggers, which are about 7'6" apart, so these will drop right in no problem.
They are extruded aluminum attached to some addition framework to make them structurally rigid, as well as to make a place to attach the hooks.
I have six of them and I like them very much, especially the feeling of safety over wooden planks.

A: These are great if you need to leave them out in the weather. They are the litest available in a platform board, bit they do not lock to the scaffolding. I would opted for the platform boards with the plywood tops with a heavier frame and a locking device.

A: I would not use these is I weighed as much as you, the ones with the plywood floor are much stronger, in my opinion, I have both and feel much safer on the plywood floor units especially when I'm twenty feet or higher

A: They are rated at 75 lbs per sq ft..I would lay out 2 platforms and throw a plank or 2 on top..Obviously you will have your feet displayed out which will displace your weight..Good Luck..Set them on a couple cement block and tramp on them..Much better then trying it 7 ft in the air..Good Luck.

Q:Are these platforms compatible with 7 foot X 19 inch safway platforms?
by|Oct 17, 2018

Answer This Question
A: Safway's 7 'X 19' aluminum platform looks a lot like our platform so it should be compatible.
However, we have never tested this platform, so we can not guarantee that they are exactly alike. However, we know that our platforms can be installed on Safway frames.
