Q:What would go best with Terra Antica Rosso being on the floors and Stonemark Granite counter top??
by|Jun 15, 2016
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Hi Ronda, Being as coordinating products is a matter of personal preference, we encourage deciding for yourself what looks best. We offer samples of most of our mosaics and recommend ordering samples to compare to the flooring and countertops. Our Tessera Subways http://thd.co/1UQpeMZ are a great option for this, so we recommend picking some of your favorite options to compare. The flooring you have selected is from a different company, so we do not have this product available to compare with the mosaics. If you have any further questions, please reach out to our customer service team at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

A:  Hi Ron, Home Depot has a 90-day return policy on all unused products returned in the full quantity they were sold (i.e. a case must be returned as a full case). This does include products you order on HomeDepot.com or as a special order. You have the option to return in store or by shipping back to us. If you have any further questions, please reach out to our customer service team at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Q:Would this look ok if you did a white or cream subway tile and did this as a center accent around the tub?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Autumn, Ultimately, styling choices like this are a matter of personal preference. We have seen customers in the past use these as accents to subway tiles with great success, so this could be a great design choice. You may want to wait until you receive this tile before deciding which color subway you want to do. You may find that you feel cream coordinates best or vice versa. Please take a look at the customer review images for our Tessera Piano Nassau http://thd.co/230WLpO. Here you can find an image where a customer used this same color product (with a different format) as an accent strip in their bathroom. This can give you a great idea as to what it could look like when finished. If you have any further questions, please reach out to our customer service team at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

        Q:application to drywall
        by|Feb 8, 2016

        Answer This Question

A:  Good Morning, To prepare the drywall surface for installation, be sure to have it cleared and smooth. If the drywall is uneven, has grime, or other substances that could prevent improper installation, you may want to look into getting a cement backer board (sold at Home Depot). Next, we have the thinset adhesive for the tile, in which we recommend Custom Building Products brand material (sold at Home Depot) that needs to be installed with a notched trowel. As for the grout, we also encourage using Custom Building Products. Since this mosaic has glass, you will need unsanded grout to prevent scratching, applied with a float. When choosing grout color, keep in mind the grout color could change the look of the glass mosaic, so you may want to take a sheet of the mosaic to the flooring department of your local Home Depot. They have dried grout samples so you can decide what you feel looks best. We recommend that you contact Custom Building Products for further installation help prior to beginning this project, as they can offer helpful hints, tips and advice. They can be reached at (800)-282-8726. If you have any further questions regarding the tile, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

          Q:Unfinished edges

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi LZLZ, You certainly can finish the edge with just grout, and many people choose to do this. You can also look into trim products such as our Merola Glasstellos, which are glass trim pieces, or you can 'frame' the backsplash with a line of tile perpendicular to the installation, creating a vertical line on the sides where the backsplash ends. Hope that helps!

A:  Brown, white and a hint of earth tones. Goes well with a lighter granite counter type.

Q:How are these installed on walls? Also can they be installed over top of existing tile?

                Answer This Question

A:  Hi there Lisa, These tiles are installed using the same method you would to normally tile a backsplash. For more information on this, we do have project guides available on our website to walk you through it. You can view it using the following link: http://bit.ly/V5Wbn2 If you're opting to install over previous tile, I would put a thin skim-coat of leveler over the tile to cover the grout joints. Also take into consideration how far out that will push your walls as well, should they jut past any cabinets or countertop splashguards for instance.

A:  Do NOT install over existing tile. My contractor advised us to have the walls stripped and then these tiles be applied. Putting them over existing tiles you could experience an adhesive problem as well as the tile not looking level.
