Questions and Answers for Mayne Solar Cap for Mayne Mail Posts, White

A:  We unfortunately do not carry a solar cap that is compatible with our Charleston Plus Mail Post. Our Solar Cap is compatible with the following models: Dover, Signature Plus, Newport (single and double), Westbrook and Rockport (single and double).

A:  Love my planter mailbox post! It is 6:45am and it is still on but not as bright but I’ve had mine for awhile.  Plus it goes on earlier too :)

A:  The duration that the light will stay illuminated will be dependent on the capacity of the solar rechargeable battery as well as the duration that the solar panel is exposed to direct sunlight during the day to provide charging. The battery that is included, when fully charged should be sufficient to last throughout an entire night.

A:  Be sure to pull the plastic tab from the bottom of the lid to activate the battery (also check for the correct orientations of the battery) and line up the lid tabs with the slots in the lens housing and twist counter clockwise to lock in place. A:  We’ve had this light for a couple of years so don’t recall specifics but don’t recall any prep steps. (There may have been a peel-off cover on the collector). It may have needed a few days in the sun.

A:  I have the same light on my post. Did you remove the. Plastic from the battery's ? Mine took about a week to light up an it not very bright but in the dark you can see it. Another thought, are you under a street light? That could interfere.

A:  Yes, our Solar Cap is compatible with our Mayne Woodhaven Address Sign Post!

A:  Hi there! Unfortunately, our solar cap is not compatible with our Charleston Mail Post.

A:  Sensor is on the very top of the unit. To get to it, you detach the top portion from the body of the unit and you'll find the sensor and solar battery which may need to be replaced.

A:  Our Mayne Solar Caps are designed as an accessory for our Mayne Mail Posts and therefore have a "pyramid" shaped mounting bracket on the base. This will unfortunately not mount easily to a flush surface like the top of a standard post.

A:  Thank-you for your inquiry. At Mayne we take great pride in the quality of our products and the price is reflective of the quality we provide. The Solar Cap you purchased in store would not have been our product as our solar caps are only available online. Our Solar Caps are specifically designed as an accessory for our Mayne Mail Posts and have a custom mounting bracket on the base for this application. These are domestically produced out of hi-grade vinyl.
