      A:  Yes it can. Installed mine a few weeks ago and it is a downdraft single drop into the house. If this is replacing a regular swamp cooler, this will work. Just don't damage your roof/attic ducting removing the swamp and installing the MasterCool.

        A:  Stu, Yes this unit will need to be controlled by a thermostat. All of our Champion and MasterCool ducted units will require the use of a thermostat. - Thank You Christina Essick Air Products

                    A:  Internal to the unit are disposable paper water absorption media. The older models used 8" and this newer model uses 12". Supposedly the 12" is more efficient/effective.

                    A:  All evaporative coolers require media. When the unit differentiates between 12" and 8" it is just the size of the media opening and size of the pad.
