A:  Good day, Luvnani01. Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. This paint does not dry clear; it dries in a grey hue. We do not have an option in clear. Q:If I paint over chalkboard paint will it still work and will it dry clear ?

A:  This won't dry clear (it's grey). Also, I would suggest painting the magnetic layers first, then going over with the chalkboard paint. I think if you do the chalkboard paint first then go over with the magnetic paint, you wouldn't be able to write on the chalkboard.
