A: Thank you for your question. The XSS03Z 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless 5-3/8" Circular Trim Saw, Tool Only accepts 5-3/8" blades with a 5/8" arbor. Makita only offers the 5-3/8" 16T C.T. Saw Blade (A-94904). Please refer to your instruction manual for other compatibility questions.

A: Yes you can with the right blade for cutting cement and fiber boards, similar to the one shown in the picture. It will create a lot of dust, so best to wear protective gear.

A: Yes it probably will, considering it is only another 1/16 clearance needed for the blade, there is plenty of room inside main fixed aluminium blade case since the movable plastic safety cover slides inside it.
But the movable black plastic safety cover has about 1/8 inch gap and will be very close to a 5-1/2 inch blade. The only way confirm is to try it out.

A: This will support any 18V LXT Makita "Star" battery. 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A. I have new 5A batteries and old 2A batteries that I got with my old black and white Makita drills and this tool will use any of them. Does a lot better on battery life with the 4A and 5A batteries.
