Answer This Question
A: The S2-L-WH is a dual circuit dimmer that could control two separate lighting circuits individually. Each circuit is rated for up to 300W of incandescent/halogen lighting loads. As long as each circuit meets this specification, this control will work for your application.

Q:I notice the single dimmers of the same brand have an on/off switch in order to fully cut power to the light. Does this double dimmer 'click' at the bottom to indicate it has been fully turned off or is it a 'soft off' still allowing some power to the light?

Answer This Question
A: It has a click all the way at the bottom when pushed down, this indicates a complete shut off. I combined mine with a low watt bulb for additional savings. Totally worth it.

A: Hello Pinny, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question.
No, this dimmer is for incandescent lights only. What you need to look for are dimmers rated C-L that are made to work with either fluorescent or LED lamps. The circuitry in CFL and LED lamps require a different type of dimmer.
I hope this helps,
Chris.
