Q:The bath fan (no light) that I'm installing says it is .20 amps at the highest setting. Since this switch can handle 2 amps, wouldn't it be able to handle this fan?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Stevey, thank you for your inquiry! To guarantee that your in-wall sensor works with your current fan, we would recommend using the MS-OPS5M. MS-OPS2 is only rated for 2amp of the lighting load. Here is a link for the full specifications of both the MS-OPS2 and MS-OPS5M: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/369666.pdf If you still have further questions or concerns, you can contact our Support Team at support@lutron.com or call 1-844-LUTRON1. Q:Are these susceptible to backfeed from bathroom fans? I have an older version of this in my bathroom, but whenever my bathroom vent fan is turned of, it backfeeds into the circuit and triggers the older Lutron motion switch to turn on. Is this fixed now?

Q:Is there a way to keep the switch in manual off mode? Lets say you want to just have some aesthetic lighting on at night and don’t want the motion lights going on and off..

A:  You can turn it "off" with the button, but in my experience it just temporarily turns it off (like if you're leaving a room and want it off "now"), then defaults back to motion sense in 2 minutes or so

A:  Hello Kevin. Thanks for your question regarding programming the MS-OPS2 Maestro Sensor Switch. There is no way to override the auto-off feature with this device. The scenario you're looking to achieve could be accomplished with our Caseta motion sensor, Caseta wireless hub, and Caseta switch/dimmer, and then you would program the motion sensor features via the Lutron app. If you have additional questions or concerns, we're happy to help. Please reach out to our Technical Support team at support@lutron.com, or call us 1-844-LUTRON1. We're here 24/7, so please call us any time!

A:  I had to adjust the sensor setting on mine and that resolved the issue. So it wasn’t as sensitive

A:  Same problem here. Started having the issue after 10+ years of the switch. Nothing moved switch nor internet router.

A:  Hello, BrandedMoose. Thanks for your question regarding the Maestro Motion Sensor Switch. There could be a couple reasons for your Sensor Switch to be acting this way - such as being installed within 4 feet from an internet router. A:  Hello LightQuestion, thank you for your inquiry! Unfortunately, the MS-OPS2 will not work in a 3-way application (two switches to control the same light). We would recommend you use the MS-OPS5M for that type of application. If you click on the following link it will provide you the installation guide: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/0302800.pdf If you still have further questions or concerns, you can contact our Support Team at support@lutron.com or call 1-844-LUTRON1!
