Answer This Question
A: The DVFSQ-F can be used with a 4 speed ceiling fan. Lutron recommends the ceiling fan utilize pull chains to adjust the speed settings. A fan that uses a remote control or proprietary wall control will likely not be compatible.

A: The DVFSQ-F will work with a 4 speed fan, as long as the fan is operated by pull chains and does not utilize a remote or manufacturer proprietary wall control.

Answer This Question
A: The DVFSQ-F is rated to control a fan motor load only. Lutron does not suggest controlling a lighting load with this device. Instead, Lutron recommends the DVCL-153P which is rated for 150W of compatible LED/CFL or 600W incandescent/halogen lighting loads.

Q:is this switch alright to use on led fan

Answer This Question
A: The DVFSQ-F will operate the fan motor only and not the LED lights. If you were looking to control the lights as well, then Lutron would recommend the MACL-LFQ. And, Lutron has specific recommendations of which LEDs to use, in this scenario. You can view them by going to www.lutron.com/ledfinder.

Q:Can I connect two fans (Hunter Cassius 52 in model 59261) to only one control to have them run simultaneously? Can I have the control inside the house and both fans wired outside?

Answer This Question
A: The DVSCFSQ-F is rated to control a single 1.5A paddle-style fan only. Lutron does not recommend wiring two fans to be operated by this control. You can find this and other usage recommendations on the install guide here, under "Important Notes": http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/0301683.pdf. In addition, Lutron suggests contacting Hunter to ensure compatibility with third party controls.

Q:Example: Can I install one of these switches in the room with the fan, and another of these switches to run the same fan, but install it in another room. The description does say this can be used as a 3 way switch.

Answer This Question
A: No. In clarification, only one fan speed control switch can be used in a switching circuit. Other switches in the switching circuit would need to be conventional 3 way and 4 way switches, not one of these fan control switches. The other switches could control power to the fan (on/off), but not control the speed.

A: Yes you can! Depending on distance, you may need to increase the size of the wire for the switch further away.

A: The DVFSQ-F can be used in a 3-way application but would only be able to be used with a standard 3-way switch. For multi-location control, Lutron would suggest the MA-LFQ3 for your application.
