Questions and Answers for Lutron Diva Dimmer Switch for Electronic Low Voltage, 300-Watt/Single-Pole or 3-Way, Snow (DVSCELV-303P-SW)

A:  The only reason that our support center would recommend not using this dimmer for your application would be if the driver spec guide did not recommend ELV dimming. If the manufacture or vendor for these products recommended the use of the DVELV for use with your lighting then there should be no problem. A:  I use this reverse-phase dimmer with 120-V LED bulbs. It doesn't get as dim as (forward-phase) AYCL-153P but doesn't buzz.

A:  Yes, you can connect this to a low-voltage LED system.

A:  This product is only compatible with LED bulbs that are being controlled through an electronic low voltage transformer.

A:  This reverse-phase dimmer DVELV-303P has a locator light. It's not a night light; just for finding the switch. It's less bright than our smoke detector's LED, unobtrusive even in a bedroom.

A:  Yes, this product can work with halogen lights as long as there is an electronic low voltage transformer in the track.

A:  This product can control LED loads that are rated for ELV dimmers. You would need to check with Halo to see if the model number of their product you are looking at can be dimmed with an ELV dimmer.

A:  Have the same problem only with sylvania LEDs. Sylvania specified that this dimmer should work. So yeah I would call the light maker.

A:  Unfortunately when it comes to LEDs, there is currently no standard for how each one is made, so the performance will vary greatly from one to the next. Because of that, it’s going to depend on what LED you are using to determine what dimmer should be used. Some will require a specific type of dimmer to function properly, but the LED manufacturer should be able to provide that information. Lutron has tested a large amount of LEDs currently on the market but it does not appear we have done any testing on the Lithonia 48H441 fixture you mention. Lithonia would probably be the best point of contact to ensure the DVELV-303P dimmer is the best choice.

A:  Unfortunately, the locator light on these models cannot be disabled or removed.
