A:  The DVELV-300P is a single pole dimmer for single switch applications. For a 3-way application, Lutron would suggest the DVELV-303P.

A:  No, single pole means a single switch location. The DAELV303P is the 3-way version of this dimmer. The second location would be a standard 3-way switch. If you want to be able to dim from both locations you'd need to use the Maestro with a companion dimmer -- MAELV-600.]

A:  Yes, the CW-1-AL would be suggested to be used to install with this dimmer.

A:  Currently, there is no industry standard or regulation for the manufacturing of LEDs and the performance will vary with different dimming controls. With this information in mind, Lutron would suggest reaching out to the LED manufacturer to verify compatibility with this control. Lutron does perform extensive testing on a variety of LEDs from different manufacturers but as this time has not tested this fixture.

A:  I have found that it is best to contact the manufacturer of the product (Halo) you are using to see what dimmer they recommend. Most have already pre-tested several different dimmers and brands and can recommend a specific brand and model.

A:  This dimmer is rated to control any light, including LED lights, that are controlled by an electronic low voltage transformer. If the LED fixture that you have selected has an ELV transformer then this device should work perfectly.

A:  It should, but you will want to check Lutrons compatiblity chart if you want to make sure before purchase. Otherwise give it a try and see. Return if it doesnt.

A:  The dvelv-300p comes in the gloss color line whereas the dvscelv-300p comes in the satin color line. Other than the color, there is no other difference between the two products.

A:  The minimum load for this product is only 5 watts so you should be perfectly fine using it on a 20 watt application.

A:  There is, but I don't recall what that value is. I'm running 6 LED puck lights for a total of 12 watts, and it seems to work OK. I think the limitation is with the transformer, but I'm still less than the lower limit without apparent problems

A:  Yes, this product can control LED lights when used in conjunction with LED lights that are ELV compatible or that have an ELV transformer ahead of them.

A:  It does have a backlight. As to whether you can locate it easily, I guess that would depend how good your night vision is. I notice it when I am close to it, but can't say I notice it from afar. I guess that may be because my setup location doesn't require me to see it, since I have three night lights in a big room.

A:  Yes it does, there is a very low orange glow when the dimmer is off.
