A:  Hello, thank you for your question. The hard-wired dimmer in this Kit, model PD-6WCL, requires two wires, a hot power feed and a switch leg to the light itself. However, if you have a suitable location to install the hard-wired dimmer portion of this Caseta Dimmer and Remote Kit, where it can connect to the switched power to the light, but do not have a wall switch location at which to control the light, the Pico wireless remote included in this Kit can be mounted to the wall using a PICO-WBX-ADAPT wallplate adapter bracket, and then covered with a Designer/decora/decorator-style wallplate, such as a Lutron CW-1, to look like a real switch. Note that the PD-6WCL, the hard-wired dimmer in this Kit, must be vertically installed and requires a 1-gang U.S. wallbox 3 1⁄2 in (89 mm) deep recommended, 2 1⁄4 in (57 mm) deep minimum.
