A:  This exit sign stays on all the time when connected to AC power line. When AC power is removed (in case of power outage) the battery powers the flood lights along with illuminating the exit sign.

A:  When the power goes out. The battery backup will turn on the lights for up to 90 minutes. When power is restored it will recharge

Q:why there is no flash light when pressing testing switch. I have LITHONIA 2-Light Plastic LED White Exit Sign/Emergency Combo with LED Heads and Red Stencil, when trying to test it won't work and emergency lights won't respond.

              Answer This Question

A:  If you just installed the light and you are getting no spot lights while pushing the test button it is because you dud not connect the battery wires located in the side of the unit just above the test button.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  They don't flash, when power is lost it changes over to the battery back up. The way you can check it, is to hook everything up as a normal install, wait a few mins with the back up battery hooked up, then unhook the main power, if the lights stay on it's working fine. By unhooking the main power you are telling it there is a power outage.

              Answer This Question

A:  You need to plug in the back up battery. The light thinks there is a power failure and is keeping the light on.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  Remember this has an emergency ballast and it needs a constant hot wire to charge the batteries. You’re hot and neutral will wire like a regular fixture. Once the power goes off the battery will then kick on. Also you have to wait for it to charge before you determine it’s working properly or not.

                Answer This Question

A:  Combo units will need to be wired to AC power. Once the power has been applied the EXIT will come on, once power is lost the battery will turn the EXIT and the two side lights on. They will stay on for a minimum of 90 mins. Don't forget to plug the battery up during installation.

                by|May 4, 2023

A:  This fixture needs to be hooked up to a 120 volt AC source.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Just disconnect the line voltage and keep the battery in the series. Not sure if there is a test switch.

                  by|Nov 18, 2018

A:  There should be a button on the bottom or low on the side that says "test". If the battery is strong you will only see a slight change in the light output.

A:  Only some of them will be on when it's hooked up to the "house" power and the other lights will come on when the power goes out.

                    by|May 4, 2023

A:  No, the side lights should not stay on however, the power should be off when connecting to the unit to power. If the EXIT is not lit then the board has sustained damage. Please call 1-800-334-8694 for replacement board.
