Questions and Answers for Lincoln Electric Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet with Variable Shade Lens No. 7-13 (1.73 x 3.82 in. Viewing Area), Blaze Design
Q:As a DIYer I do most of my welding in the garage under fluorescent lights. I see in the specifications the helmet is powered by a solar cell; no batteries. Is there a possibility of the helmet being under powered and the users eyes being flashed?

A: When the lens isn't in use it is very easy to see through it and has a greenish tint to it, sort of like a pair of sunglasses. The helmet also has a pivot on the headband which means you can push the visor up and out of the way very easily if you need to look at what you're welding in plain sight between welds.

A: We have a solid black Lincoln helmet at work (a $200 one) and our Master Welder wears my mask when I take it! That should say enough. I have a buddy whom has a Miller and he says that mine is great and he would have saved some cash if this deal was around a couple years ago

A: I researched the other Lincoln masks before buying this one and found that it had the same performance as most of the other Lincoln masks in terms of response, shades of darkness etc. The only difference was the price of the Blaze design which was less expensive than some of the other masks.
