A:  My 8 ft has never done this, but my smaller on has and it is the mechanism in the center that does not seem to function properly. Once I half way fold back up and click and hold the latch until the table is completely open it holds just fine. Mine has even had the same issue but in reverse when I close it. It will not completely close until I do the same open it back up hold the then re-close. Hope that helps.
