Q:I'm installing retrofit LED cans. The new dimmer switch I bought is a different brand that is LED compatible. The other side of the room already has this Leviton 1453-2w switch. Do I have to replace this switch too, or is it compatible with the new LEDs?

A: The switch has nothing to do with the LED it depend on if you have the correct wiring. The new lights have to be dimmable.

A: The switch does not require a neutral wire. The lamp or whatever you are controlling of course does need a neutral. Just like a standard switch, a 3-way switch switches only the hot wire. If you use 3-wire (plus ground) Romex, one of the wires is probably white. Put colored tape over both ends of the white wire to indicate that it is not being used as a neutral.
The switch should still be grounded with a ground wire.
Google "3-way switch wiring" for diagrams and more.

Q:Just installed this switch. It works perfectly in the off position (the toggle glows amber) but in the on position it continues to have a slight glow, not as much, but it glows slightly. Did I install incorrectly or is this normal?

Answer This Question
A: In the on position the toggle switch should not glow at all, however if everything else works, well don't worry about it.

Q:LED Loads - The description does not say, but I see an "answer" to this question previously says "no." Leviton, which model switch can be used for LED loads?

A: Yeah, works perfectly well with LEDs. It's just a simple 3-way switch, so should work just fine with any fixture expecting 120V/15A. (I feed two LED shop lights with these and everything works beautifully.)

A: If your you are using the switch just for on or off that switch will work. If you want a dimmer switch then look for one that will handle and LED light.

Q:is this 1 switch or 2? Near the top in the bullet points it says:
Contains two 3-way switches that use a 3-way circuit
But I do not see that mentioned anywhere else
