Answer This Question
A: This model does not have atomic WWVB time, as is quartz movement.
We recommend using brand-name, alkaline batteries, which should be either have tested 1.48v, or expiration date should be 7 years in advance of current year.
As for any atomic clock, WWVB frequency may take up to 5 nights depending on electrical or atmospheric interference. We recommend placing clock on wall or near window facing direction of Fort Collins, CO (2,000 mile radius) from your location to pick up frequency.

Q:Does this clock need to be hung under an eave or can it be in the direct sun?

Answer This Question
A: Placing clock in direct sunlight will give inaccurate temperature readings on thermometer gauge.
We recommend mounting clock under overhang or eave to protect from constant precipitation for lasting performance and out of direct sunlight for accuracy readings.

Q:Why would you have a thermometer that you have to set the temp by turning knob in the back of the clock? Am I missing something? This clock doesn?t read the temp outside

A: Yes it does. Just hang the clock outside. It works great I’ve had it out for years. Very accurate. You can also hang it indoors. I have several indoors and the temperature is very accurate. I really don’t use it for the temperature. Just the time. The temperature reading is quite small and you need to get closer the clock to see it.

A: Yes, clock displays both Analog thermometer (F/C) scale, and Analog hygrometer (% RH) scale on the dial.
This clock detects ambient temperature & humidity in its mounted location, so either indoors or outdoors.
You may adjust temperature or humidity by gently turning the adjustment knobs on the back of the clock to your desired setting. We always recommend hanging the clock protected from extreme precipitation and out of direct sunlight for performance and accurate readings.

Answer This Question
A: yes though temp reading will likely be affected so wouldn't recommend

A: No. Placing clock in direct sunlight will display inaccurate readings for temperature and humidity. We recommend placing under covered roof sheltered from direct sun and constant precipitation. This clock is weather resistant, but not waterproof.

Q:What is the configuration for mounting on the back of the clock? Is it a hole or a bracket? Can it be mounted on a wire hook?

Answer This Question
A: The clock has a hole on the back. I just used a single nail to hang it on the outside wall.
by|Apr 22, 2021
A: Please view the backview image of the clock. There a cutout bracket at the top. The clock's weight is approximately 4.65 lbs, so the hook would need to hold more than 5 lbs in weight. We recommend using a screw or nail for strengthened support.
