A:  The knobs are made of plastic with a 'chrome' plating, they do soften at the stem (and no the door was never left open while broiling!) which causes the knob to spin loosely around the gas valve stem, and they cost around $40 apiece from LG!

A:  We regret the trouble you have experienced with this range oven. You may notice some white ash in the oven after the Self Clean cycle. Wipe it up with a damp cloth after the oven cools. If white spots remain, remove them with a soap-filled scouring pad and rinse thoroughly with a vinegar and water mixture. These deposits are usually a salt residue that cannot be removed by the clean cycle. The use of steel wool can damage the surface. There are no options for opening the lower portion of the oven to get to the inside of the vents.

Hold a lit match to the burner, then push in and turn the control knob to the “LITE” position. Use extreme caution when lighting burners this way. Surface burners in use when an electrical power failure occurs will continue to operate normally.
