A:  The deadbolt can be installed on a 2 1/8" backset borehole or a 1 1/2" backset borehole.

A:  For the Deadbolt, the standard borehole size is 1-1/2" or 2-1/8" diameter. For the Knob, the borehole size is 2-1/8".

A:  The 980 Deadbolt meets UL 3 hour fire rating for 982 and 984 Optional UL* 1/3 hour fire rating for all functions and for our Signature Series locks meet UL 3 hour fire rating for 725, 735, 745, 746, 755. Optional UL 1/3 hour fire rating for all functions.

A:  Yes, SmartKey Security can be keyed at the consumer level with the SmartKey Learn Tool and by following the SmartKey Re-Key instructions. SmartKey Security re-key technology is compatible with a 5 pin (K1 and K5) and 6 pin (K10) keyways. If your other locks use the same type of keys, then yes, you can re-key the SmartKey to match.
