Answer This Question
A: The finish on Kwikset Products is protected by a durable topcoat designed to maintain the beauty and quality of the Kwikset Product. For product maintenance, we suggest using warm, soapy water to clean it and then towel-dry the hardware. To protect the finish you can polish the knob with carnauba wax. We do not recommend using solvents nor harsh chemicals, which will void the finish warranty.
A new Kwikset product is backed by a limited lifetime finish warranty for the original purchaser of the product. Please follow this link for more details on our finish warranty:

Q:Hello. I installed the deadbolt and it does not cover the hole completely. There is just a tiny gap that cold air gets through. Any suggestions to fix this? It would of been nice if the plate was just a little bit larger.

A: The 980 Deadbolt fits a borehole that's either 2-1/8" or 1-1/2" in diameter. Use Part “K” if hole in door is 2-1/8" in diameter. Please see Section 5 of the installation guide here: https://kwiksetprodstorage.blob.core.windows.net/documents/kw_ig_5064032_db_980.pdf
