A:  The the upside-down cylinder does not affect the operation of the lock. The cylinder is removable and reversible with the help of the knob cylinder removal tool, model # 81467. A:  The finish on Kwikset Products is protected by a durable topcoat designed to maintain the beauty and quality of the Kwikset Product. For product maintenance, we suggest using warm, soapy water to clean it and then towel-dry the hardware. To protect the finish you can polish the knob with carnauba wax. We do not recommend using solvents nor harsh chemicals, which will void the finish warranty. A new Kwikset product is backed by a limited lifetime finish warranty for the original purchaser of the product.
