        Q:can the stopper be used to enable one to fill sink with water and soak items in it?

        A:  Yes....It will fill the sink by turning the stopper upside down. I personally don't like the design of this model....I would opt for the next model down - Continuous feed model. The stopper in this thing is very intricate and collects debris in it all the time and when used to activate the machine its sometime trickey to activate.
