A:  Hello CMR1. No. This extinguisher has our standard BC powder in it and is rated for cooking oil and cooking media fires as well as electrical fires. The UL711A refers to the patented nozzle on this extinguisher that meets the UL711A standards. The speed and velocity of the powder is slowed down by the nozzle so that the powder comes out slowly and this keeps from splashing burning cooking oil or grease. However, the AMOUNT of powder that comes out at any one time is increased so that more powder comes out at once to make up for the slow speed of the powder. This helps with kitchen fires such as a burning pan of oil or grease. A class fires are paper and wood fires. B class fires are oil, grease, and cooking media fires. A class K extinguisher is a wet chemical extinguisher used for cooking media such as cooking oil and actually cools the oil as it extinguishes the fire to help keep it from catching fire again. Our only class K extinguisher is the model WC-100 KS Pro, part number 25074. Homedepot.com and Home Depot does not usually carry it but if you go to Home Depot and go to the Pro desk, they can special order it for you.
