A:  When I received mine, it came with a hanger. Now I’m moving, and the hanger has been misplaced!!

A:  Mine came with a very simple but effective wall hanger - just a piece of metal in a 90 degree angle so you can hang it by the neck. No strap.

Q:Why doesn't this extinguisher model have a hose to direct the chemical/powder, when all the other Kidde extinguishers have one?

          Answer This Question

A:  The nozzle on the fire extinguisher itself is sufficient to aim the chemical in the direction of the fire.

          by|May 6, 2023

A:  Hello Rik, The hose is not on the smaller units (less than 2:A 10:BC) The heavier units do have the hose for directional purposes as they can be put onto the ground and the hose can be used to direct the chemical. The smaller units are light enough that they can be held in the hand to aim the nozzle at the fire. Thank you for choosing Kidde.

A:  Yes it is rechargeable, however, it is most likely that a new unit would be the most expeditious method of replacement.

A:  No It is a one time use item. Even if it could be recharged the cost would be more than the price of a new unit. (from my experience with fire extinguishers in my resturant)

A:  Hello Jaxon. This extinguisher will put out electrical fires and liquid fuel fires, so it should be usually able to put out fires if your electrical equipment catches fire. The dry powder is not electrically conductive but we can not guarantee that the dry powder won't get into the circuitry and works and interfere with the electronics, just like dust would, and we can't guarantee that the fire damage won't interfere with the workings of your electronic devices. We also can't guarantee that the powder won't fuse to hot metal and cause you to have to replace that device. We do make BC extinguishers which are less likely to fuse to hot metal, such as the model # 21008634N, Internet #205753438, Store SKU #1001219304, but such extinguishers are still a dry chemical powder and are only rated for B-class liquid fuel fires and C-class electrical fires and are not rated for use on A-class paper or wood fires. We also make carbon dioxide extinguishers such as the Kidde Pro 10 CDM-4, part number 466181. This is not a dry powder extinguisher but is still only rated for B and C class fires. It is not available on Homedepot.com but if you go to a Home Depot store, the Pro desk can special order it. The CO2 in this extinguisher may displace oxygen and cause rapid suffocation. Do not use in confined space unless adequately ventilated. In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. We are Kidde Product Support at 1-800-880-6788. Thank you for your interest.

A:  Hello Ktmie. In reference to your question, this extinguisher should be recharged every 6 years and should be hydrostatically tested and recharged every 12 years. For such servicing, you would go to your yellow pages under fire extinguishers, sales and services. As long as such a company has the service manual for this extinguisher and the extinguisher meets all of the standards and testing done by such a company, the extinguisher should be good. if you have any questions about this, please call us at Kidde Product Support at 1-800-880-6788.
