A: They call it a "composite". It seems to be some kind of cross between fiber glass and plastic only harder. It is heavy and sturdy. It stains about the same as porcelain sinks do. I have been using mine for a couple of years without any issues. It is a deep sink which is good, sometimes I wish it was split into two halves.

A: The main difference between Swanstone and Veritek is within the composite of the compound itself.
Veritek’s composite is slightly thinner than the Swanstone composite.
Once produced, both materials will have the same weight and be produced in the same molds.
Veritek is only offered in White, Bisque and Bone.
Swanstone is offered in 43 different colors.
Both materials receive a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

A: After several years of use, I find that it stains more easily. The only thing you can use on it is Clorox Cleanup. Everything else scratches the sink.

A: I love this sink, but it definitely requires maintenance to keep it white. Anything metal (baking sheets, iron skillets, etc.) will leave marks in the sink. Of all the cleaning products I've tried, melamine foam sponges (magic eraser) work the best, although it can also require some elbow grease. Also, soaking the sink in 2 - 3" of bleach water for about 30 minutes will also help remove residual stains.

A: Pots and pans can leave marks but I have found that a magic eraser takes care of them. I keep one by the sink. Also, I use a dish pan in the sink to allow me to wash dishes without causing black marks. Beautiful sink, I always get compliments.

Swanstone Kitchen Sinks
Clean your Swanstone sink by using abrasive cleaners or other similar products.
Use of a nylon scouring pad is also recommended.
Food-based stains can be removed using a 50-50 mix of bleach and water solution and soaking for 15 minutes.
For rust or other mineral stains, rust-removing products are acceptable.
To restore luster or extend time between cleanings, Granite Cleaner & Polish is recommended.
Do not use metal scouring pads.
