A:  Good Morning, The Swan sink is made out of Swanstone, it's a compression molded compound that consisits of a blend of polymer resins, fillers and reinforcement additives.

A:  No. And you need one or pots and pans could damage the surface if put in while hot.

A:  You can order a one-piece grid separately or go to the housewares department and buy 2 smaller ones. I found that easier to manage when I wanted to put one aside to put a larger volume of garbage down the disposer.
