Q:This is the response on Sarah's answer to Gary's question: Gary did not ask what type of countertop is needed for the sink, but whether the regular laminate countertop would support this particular sink

A:  Hi Gary, this is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I'm glad to address your question. The Kohler Mayfield cast iron sink does not have any countertop restrictions.     Q:Please advise on the following: this sink is heavy (almost 80 lb) and the sink rim is pretty narrow (about 1/2 in). Is it OK to install that weight on the regular laminate countertop?

                          A:  Width or depth? Lowers are 24" deep and I don't think you can order anything smaller than 12" wide unless it is just a panel.
