A:  Hi Mark, this is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I am very sorry to hear your spout does not have the correct rotation. The 120 degree rotation should be evenly split, and this is done by installing the spout/body in the correct position. To correct this, find the center (so that the spout will turn to the left and right equally [60 degrees both ways]). Next, loosing the hardware from under the sink. Then you can lift up on the spout and relocate it correctly (so that the faucet is facing the front, centered). Lastly, you can retighten the hardware to secure the faucet once again to the sink. A:  Yes, You do not have to install it. It is a totally separate and independent unit. You can also use it someplace else or install it and never use it. I did not install it. I have no regrets but... If installing a brand new countertop - it is harder to install it afterwards if you change your mind - and if an existing countertop does not have place for the soap dispenser then for sure yes can install just the faucet and do not have to install the soap dispenser.
