Answer This Question

A:  Hi Nes, this is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I'm glad to answer your question. While we do not test our products with other brands, this bath will work with most standard bath drains. The drain is located 8-3/4" from the left/right end wall and 16" from the back wall. The overflow is 2-7/8" down (on center) from the rim. The overall bath height is 23-3/8". We suggest using these dimensions to compare with the bath drain to ensure proper fit. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

A:  Yes! My 32 yr old Son needed to do a salt bath before his jujitsu tournament. He's 6' 3" and said the tub was perfect. Because the tub's so deep, the total value is very good. It fits well in our Master bathroom that only 54" wide vs 64" for a 60" standard tub.

A:  Absolutely. I'm 5'8" and soak almost every night. It is a soaking tub, so your knees must bend, however when full, your body is submerged.

A:  Hi, this is Laura with Kohler Co. I am happy to assist you with your question. This model number is the bath only. To install a shower faucet above the bath, a valve and shower/bath faucet trim kit are needed. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

A:  Yes, It's all about the Plumbing fixture. This tub is much taller then a standard tub. It's around 24" tall vs. 12" to 15" standard tub. The new bath/ shower fixture will have to be installed and mounted above the tub just like a standard installation, just higher on the wall.

            by|Mar 19, 2020

A:  Sure it can be used as a shower like any other tub. You might consider adding a grab bar on the wall as stepping in to the very deep tub is different than with more shallow tubs.

A:  It's easier to get into the tub than out but if you can get up off the floor easily then you can get up and out of this tub ok.

A:  Hi, this is Laura with Kohler Co. I am happy to assist you with your question. I have this bath and love it. My grandchildren use it every time they visit; they love being able to splash a lot due to the depth of the bath. Their parents have not mentioned finding it hard to bathe the little ones. A:  Both of my toddler aged grandkids use this tub when they spend the night with us. That being said, this is a great tub for the master bath but I would not install it in the bathroom that would be used primarily by children.

A:  The tub does not have a ridge on the back of the tub. This tub was the perfect solution to fit under a window in our bathroom and allow space for a walk in shower. I am 6’ and am able to soak in it comfortably.

A:  1) The ridge that you see in the picture goes a couple of inches into the back of the tub but top to bottom is smooth where you would rest your back - though it is fairly straight up and down (no recline). 2) I use epsom salts regularly in my tub and have never had a problem. The only issue I have had with the tub is the plug mechanism is lousy. You have to be super careful with it when you turn it up or down or the mechanism in the hole disconnects and the stopper gets stuck in the down position.

A:  We have this style of tub and the ridges visible are actually stiffeners as well as somewhat like arm rests. they do not continue to the lumbar area which itself is smooth and uninterrupted from top to bottom. This is a deep tub so some may require the use of the arm rests to help lift themselves from the tub.

Q:For 3 wall alcove, this tub is missing a tiling flange. My contractor says that he would not recommend this tub to be used for 3 wall alcove. Simply caulking around the edge is not a long term solution, as any crack from caulking means water will leak down. This tub is to be installed on second floor. I'm very concerned. Why advertise that this can be used as 3 wall alcove when it doesn't have built-in flange support?
